Labor Day Week with Surprise Visitors!
Labor day weekend we headed to Park City for a fun overnight stay. Most of the girls left Friday afternoon, shopped at the outlets, met up with all the husbands and others, went swimming, made a delicious dinner, and played games and talked until late. We woke up Saturday morning and went to breakfast, shopped some more, did the Alpine slide (Brady sat on my lap and LOVED it. I cannot wait to take him again.), and made our way home just in time for lunch, naps, and the BYU game. It was a blast but it got even better. After we got to my parents house to watch the BYU game, someone knocked on the back door. We were all shocked to see that Jake, Paris, and Jaxen had driven all the way from Texas to be with us for a whole week! They brought their adorable dog, Emmy, and all the kids loved her. The kids wanted to swim so bad that we let them all get in the pool in their underwear/diapers. Brady is so good with his floaties that I don't even have to be in the water with him anymore. It's awesome.
Matt and I basically moved into my parents house for the week since we knew we would be there a lot. It was so much fun. We BBQ'd, swam, played outside a lot, went to Kangaroo Zoo, shopped at IKEA, played at the splash pad at the Riverwoods mall, rode the carousel at Provo Beach Resort, had a girls night, let the guys have a guys night, got babysitters and had a family date night (So fun!), stayed up way late every night, ate way too much food, and just enjoyed all being together. It was hard to get back to reality because it felt like a vacation even though we were only 30 minutes from home. Jake and Paris had to leave on Sunday to get back for Jake to start his new job. We were sad to see them go but are making some plans to go to Texas in May for Gavin's first birthday.
